Euro summer? Not so much for me this year… seeing as I spent the summer pregnant. 😂 But Euro eating and international food in Colorado Springs? Count me in.

If an international trip isn’t happening this summer (or let’s be real, anytime soon because it’s so pricey), I’m a big believer in finding ways to get a little taste of somewhere else right here at home. And Colorado Springs actually has some pretty great spots where the food, atmosphere, and experience can make you feel like you’ve stepped outside the Springs for a bit.

Italy

Mollica’s Italian Market & Deli

If you’re craving an Italian afternoon without booking a flight to Rome, Mollica’s is an easy place to start. This longtime Colorado Springs favorite is part Italian deli, part market, and part restaurant, with shelves stocked with imported Italian goods and plenty of classic comfort food.

What to try: Grab an Italian sandwich or pasta dish, then wander through the market for imported pasta, sauces, meats, cheeses, and other Italian goodies to take home.

Germany

Edelweiss German Restaurant

Edelweiss has that cozy, traditional German restaurant feeling that makes dinner feel like an experience instead of just another night out. The menu is packed with German classics, and the old-world atmosphere makes it especially fun when you’re craving something a little different. In warmer months, grab a table in their beer garden and enjoy dinner outside.

What to try: Go for the schnitzel, spaetzle, or bratwurst, and pair it with a German beer.

France

The French Kitchen

The French Kitchen is one of those places I love for a slow morning when you want something a little more special than your usual coffee run. Between the pastries, baguettes, French market items, and café atmosphere, it has all the ingredients for a very French start to the day. If you’re interested in expanding your cooking skills, try one of their classes. It’s a fun and delicious way to spend the day.

What to try: The pain au chocolat or the Ham and Brie Sandwich with coffee, and don’t forget to grab some of their ready-made meals to save yourself the headache of dinner.

Spain

Tapateria

Tapateria is perfect when you’re looking for that long, lingering Spanish meal where you order a few things, share everything, and don’t feel the need to rush. The tapas-style menu makes it easy to try a little of everything, and the wine and cocktails make it feel like a proper night out. Everything is gluten-free, but even if you’re a gluten LOVER (like me), you won’t be disappointed. And if you can catch their paella on the patio during the summer, you’re in for a treat.

What to try: Order several tapas for the table and pair them with a Spanish wine or sangria. I love the garlic shrimp, white bean hummus, albondigas, and carne adobada.

England

The Brit Pub

Sometimes you don’t need a fancy European getaway. You just need a proper pub. The Brit Pub brings the classic British pub experience to Colorado Springs with British comfort food, a great beer selection, and the kind of cozy atmosphere that makes you want to stay for another round.

What to try: Fish and chips with a British beer, or go for a Sunday roast if you catch it on the right day.

A Little Taste of Somewhere Else

One of my favorite things about living in Colorado Springs is that you don’t always have to go far to experience something completely different. Whether you’re craving Italian deli sandwiches, German schnitzel, French pastries, Spanish tapas, or a proper British pub, there’s a little bit of Europe waiting right here in town.
